Branson Trip with a Baby Day 3

TodAy was a little cloudier and a little rainy. Our daughter slept through the night again but was still very tired. We decided to go to the Tanger Outlets – Branson. I needed new clothes for myself and we wanted to look at baby stuff. We didn’t find any good baby stuff. But I did find new clothes. Our daughter slept most of the day. Everyone kept asking to see her and wanted to hold her. Which is great but kinda slowed us down.

We were going to try and go the Trail of Lights but our daughter was tired and tired of being in her car seat. So we opted to go to the Altenhof Inn. So we took it easy on our last day there.

Branson Trip with Baby Day 2

On day 2 of vacationing with a baby. We started our day at Dicks 5 & 10. Lots of stuff to look at and buy. Very crowded with people and items. It is with in walking distance to Branson Landing. Lots of shopping and eating in that area. We were just trying to waste some time tell Silver Dollar City opened at 1:00 pm.

After our morning outing, we went to Silver Dollar City. This was my wife and I’s umpteenth time to Silver Dollar City but our daughter actually seemed to really enjoy it, or at least the parts she was awake to see. Surprisingly she was awake most of the day. But she did start to fall asleep after the first tree lighting at 5:30pm.

Our daughter slept the rest of the night except when we had to wake her to feed her. She was a champ all day. Did not cry or fuss the entire day. She was perfectly content being held and looking at the people and the lights.

Our daughter has actually slept through the entire night. Normally, she gets up once during the night. She must like being on vacation.

Branson Trip With Baby Day 1

So this is our first trip with our newborn daughter 4.75 months old. We were hoping for the best, but planning for the worst. Normally our daughter (Lily) is kind of inconsistent about liking her car seat. We were expecting her to sleep for a little while and wake up and want to be feed. Nope. She slept the 3 hours and 15 minutes to Springfield, Missouri. We stopped to have lunch before we went to Amigos Mexican Restaurant. It was very good and it was just down the street from Bass Pro.

This Bass Pro has an outdoor world which consists of aquariums, turtles and ducks. Recently, after several years of work opened a huge aquarium. We were going to go through the new aquarium but according to the cashier it would take about 2.5 hours to go through. We didn’t want to take chance and go through and have to feed our daughter because we are bottle feeding so we opted to go through next year.

After our few hour driving break at Bass Pro, we moved along to Branson, Mo to our hotel which was maybe another 30-45 minute drive. We checked into the Tree House Condo. We had a one room one bathroom with a kitchen. Just the right size for two adults and a toddler.

For dinner, we went to Altenhoff Inn. It’s a little German/pizza place just outside Silver Dollar City.

Branson, Mo Day 4, 2017

After finishing with Silver Dollar City we went shopping again at the Tanger Outlet to redeem some coupons we had received from our shopping a few days earlier. After round 2 of shopping, we went to Top of the Rock. Top of the rock is a golf course owned by Bass Pro. Johnny Morris, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Arnold Palmer had a hand designing the golf course. This course is part of the PGA tour. And also boasts a wind cellar and multiple restsuruaunts.

You are able to drive a golf cart on a 2.5 mile ride where you can see trees, waterfalls and a cave.  Fun time for family’s. There is a natural history museum that houses dinasour bones and Native American artifacts from the Ozarks. So it’s all local history. They also have a civil war section. It is one of the three biggest Native American collections in the world.

You get to drive on the bridge with the cart and see the waterfall.

Inside the cave. The even have a small bar inside the cafe. The menu is limited to a handfull of items but still worth the money on a hot day. Inside the cafe it’s wet and cold. A good drive for a hot day.

My wife who was also my driver for the cave tour.

They had a small metal bridge you could walk on and reach out and put your hands in the water fall.

Pictures inside the main entrance of the golf course at Top of the Rock. The first picture is of the wine bar.

The mammoth found in the Ozarks. This is the beginning of the

The sink whole. Use to be a cave until it collapsed.

Top of the rock was doing some renivations while we were there. A lot of it was cosmetic. They were getting ready for a tournament in a couple weeks. The area by the sink while no one seemed to know what they were building but I am sure it will be nice.

Branson, Mo Day 3, 2017

Today we returned to Silver Dollar City to watch the other shows we did not make it to the previous day.

Paint Jam: Dan Dunn, was a site to see. Big personality and a fun show. He paints on a giant aisle that spins while listening to music, usually classic rock. He even brings people on stage to paint with him. Worth the time or even a second visit.

Flamingo Kings: A dancing/musical fusion. They are known for their dancing but a very talented with musical instruments. Very intertaining but not for everyone.

Harp and Hang Drum: A music collaboration between a harp and a hand drum.
After the last show which ended a little after 4pm, we decided to go back to our room for a little bit and drop some stuff off.

Then we went back to the hotel to drop some stuff off before dinner. For dinner we went to Altenhoff Inn

Branson, Mo Day 2, 2017

We got up early to start our day early getting to Silver Dollar City. They did away with the the World Festival and replaced it with Festival of Wonder.  They have lots of new food vendors like a grilled cheese booth, a New Mexican place, a milk shake booth and a healthier option of a salad booth. Which, that alone was a nice change if you have eat a few meals there to have some new options to try. As part of the festival, all the acts are new as well.

Earth Harp Collective : The worlds longest playable stringed instrument. If you like the rock concert feel this is the show for you. A mix of pop/Irish/classical music. Fun for the whole family. Worth the visit or maybe even for a couple. The group is fronted by William Close.

Brian Engel: Glass Harmonica : This show was a bit of a dud. This was the first show we saw when we arrived before most of the park opened. Worth missing. The show turned into more of a lecture about how to play your standard dinning glasses and bowels as musical instruments. So the show felt more like a lecture than a show.
Balance Wonder

Mean Murphy Rides Again: This is a Silver Dollar City main stay. They have the same theme every year; show girls, owner, sheriff and love interest. Fun family show.

Blancing Wonder: This show was a balancing and juggling act. They balanced bowling pins, balanced on a ladder and another person.
