The El Ceibo museum is a small museum on Ometepe island, Nicaragua which is located in Lake Nicaragua. This Museum is one of the big attractions for the area and well worth it. All the artifacts are broken up by time period and where they were found. Many if not all the artifacts were in amazing condition and very colorful. All the signs are in English so they are easy to read and if you are part of a tour group they have people to give you a tour. This museum was better maintained then some museums in the United States which was very surprising and all the staff were very knolwedgable.
You will have to take a boat to get there and the island is in one of the largest fresh water lakes in the Americas. The islands are there because of the two volcanoes that helped make the island. The volcano names are Concepción and Maderas volcano.
